Maintaining the health and wellbeing of your child, yourself and your family is very important.
Ensuring that you and your child are coping with the emotional factors often related to limb difference is important for your mental health and wellbeing.
Similarly, ensuring that your child’s physical health is positively managed is the key to maintaining good health and reducing preventable issues in the future.
This section of the Learning Centre explores feelings of grief and loss, the importance of ensuring good residual limb hygiene, phantom pain and phantom sensation, bullying and ways of addressing it, ways you can support your child to have a positive body image and self-esteem and the importance of playground fun. A list of books, films and toys of relevant to children, young people and parents are also available in this section.
